NYTEX Sports Centre, home of the Brahmas, offers hockey opportunities for every age and skill level. NYTEX has everything from fun in-house leagues to competitive travel teams. With year-round programs, experienced coaches, and a family atmosphere that makes everyone feel at home, NYTEX is where friendships are made, skills are built, and a love for hockey lasts a lifetime.

Texas Jr. Brahmas (THL)

The Texas Jr. Brahmas compete in the Texan Hockey League and proudly offer competitive teams from 10U through 18U at both the A and AA levels. Built on our core values of Respect & Responsibility, we provide a high-level environment where players can develop their skills, grow their love for the game, and prepare for future opportunities in hockey. At NYTEX Sports Centre, home of Brahma Land, players benefit from experienced coaching, a proven development model, and a family-oriented culture dedicated to helping them succeed both on and off the ice.

House Hockey

With more than 15 House Hockey teams competing in the Dallas Stars Metro Hockey League, NYTEX Sports Centre offers players the perfect place to learn, grow, and enjoy the game. Our House Hockey program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and fun competition, giving players of all ages and abilities the opportunity to hit the ice, make friends, and create lasting memories in Brahma Land. The league continues to be run with one goal in mind – to give young players aged 4–18 an opportunity to learn and play the game in a positive, developmental atmosphere that is both impactful and fun!

Mini Mites and Jr. Bruisers

Ready to take the next step after Learn to Skate? Our Mini-Mites and Jr. Bruisers programs are the perfect introduction to hockey for young players. Designed to build confidence and develop fundamental skills, these programs teach skaters how to move with a stick and puck while continuing to improve their skating abilities. Through fun, age-appropriate instruction, players will learn the basics of hockey in a supportive environment and begin their journey into the game.

Texan Hockey Academy

Texans Hockey Academy (THA) is one of the top development programs in North Texas, offering over 20% more ice than any other academy in the area with 105+ hours during the school year at NYTEX Sports Centre. Players benefit from elite on-ice training, video analysis, classroom instruction, and off-ice development in a fully equipped learning environment.
Led by Coach Wildfong and a staff that includes NAHL-level goaltending instruction, THA focuses on building complete players through skill development, systems learning, and high-level competition. The academy runs fall/spring and winter semesters, with additional opportunities for elite tournaments year-round.

AT&T High School Hockey at NYTEX

Looking to take the next step into high school hockey? NYTEX Sports Centre is proud to be the home rink for Birdville ISD, Keller ISD, and Southlake Carroll ISD high school hockey programs.
About High School Hockey
High school hockey in the Dallas–Fort Worth area is played through the AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League, one of the fastest-growing leagues in Texas. Teams compete in both Varsity and Junior Varsity divisions, with seasons typically running:
- Fall/Winter Season: September – March
- Summer Season: May – August – Registration open now
Players represent their school districts and compete against teams from across the Metroplex.
Who Can Play?
- Open to 7th–12th grade players depending on team level
- Varsity is typically 9th–12th grade
- Junior Varsity often includes younger or developing players
High school hockey in Texas is considered a club sport, meaning teams are affiliated with schools but operate independently with a strong focus on development, teamwork, and school pride .
