FACILITY UPDATE

FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT NYTEX SPORTS CENTRE

NYTEX Sports Centre requires all general public, guests, competitors, and employees to wear face masks within the Centre at all times. NYTEX Sports Centre reserves the right to refuse service to any person(s) refusing to comply with local ordinances.

Face masks will be required in all Tarrant County businesses and at outdoor gatherings with more than 100 people, County Judge Glen Whitley announced Thursday. The executive order goes into effect at 6 p.m. Friday June 26, 2020.

PREVIOUS UPDATES:

Most of the NYTEX Sports Centre programs and clinics have fully resumed as of today. Per State of Texas regulations, Shower Rooms remain closed. For the comfort of our participants, we have moved staging areas out of the lobby and into designated areas with signage to help participants locate those areas. It is strongly recommended that our participants arrive at the facility wearing as much of their gear as possible.

Open Skate, Open Hockey, Freestyle Skate, Skate School, Adult Drop-in and Friday Night Ice (resumes Friday June 5, 2020 at 6:45pm) are all available for online purchase on our website home page. MITE Jam Sessions and Summer Select (formerly Spring Select) Hockey have resumed and coaches are getting in touch with players regarding roster assignments. Those assignments will be posted on our website in the appropriate locations and on our social media outlets.

Adult League Hockey is set to return to the ice in the coming days and more information is available via Team Coordinators and the social media group forums.

Summer Sports Camp is now enrolling for the short summer term of only five weeks, starting July 6th and concluding the week of August 7, 2020. Contact Karen directly for more information at 817.520.3302 and read all about the program here.

 WELCOME BACK 

NYTEX Sports Centre is reopening with limited activities on May 18th in accordance with Governor Greg Abbott’s plan to reopen the State of Texas. 

SAFETY MEASURES TAKEN: 

 Our facility has been deep cleaned, sanitized professionally & is kept clean with daily sanitation throughout high traffic areas. 

 Entrance & Participation requires participant preregistration / payment online. See protocol. 

 Dressing rooms have been sanitized & closed. See protocol. 

 Consistent sanitization prioritizes, not limited to, front desk, rental skates, floors, doors, rink glass, boards, player benches, penalty boxes, dressing rooms, showers & restrooms. 

 Masks will not be provided by the facilities. Patrons or Guests arriving without a protective face covering will not be permitted into the building. 

PROJECTED SCHEDULE 

Monday, May 18 to 31st: 

The Centre opens 15 minutes prior to first event each day with limited activities. Participation requires preregistration / payment online prior to entering. Maximum numbers monitored in accordance with State of Texas Guidelines. Tentative Program information may be adjusted. 

Check NYTEX Sports Networks, Websites & Social Media for current schedule / information of Public Skating, Open Hockey, Competitors Club & Open Free Style. Private Ice is also available. 

Monday, June 1: 

Jr Brahma’s Camps, Clinics & Selects programs will begin to practice in small groups. Dressing rooms may be available at that time. 

Monday, June 8: 

NYTEX Sports Summer Selects Program will have its first events on ice. 

Monday, June 15: 

Goal: All NYTEX Sports Centre on-ice events will begin in full. 

Facility and Rink Entrance Protocol 

 Before entering the facility there will be an information sign regarding safety measures once inside. 

 Each person participating on the ice will need to have pre-registered and paid online

 If not registered and there is still space available, we would allow anyone to use their phone to register at that time. 

 No one will be permitted to enter the facility without a mask. 

 It is expected that each participant come already dressed in their hockey gear, less helmet and skates. 

 Once inside an “ambassador” will greet each customer. The ambassador will direct them to the staging area. 

 The staging area is where participants will be allowed to put on their skates and helmet. 

 Directions of how players enter the ice surface and leave the ice surface will be present at staging area. 

 Limited Spectator viewing area will be available, however access to the Ice Arena is limited to instructors and participants ONLY. There is a live stream available through our partner Live Barn for those wanting to watch on-ice activity via remote access. (More LiveBarn info)

Mite Jam and Spring Select Update:

Nytex Sports Centre expects that both its spring programs, Mite Jams and Spring Select, will be completed in full this spring and summer.

Originally scheduled to start March 28th, we now anticipate June 5th and June 6th start date for both programs.  If we can safely start earlier than this date, we will add practices and pre-season games leading up to the start of regular season games.  If it is not safe to start on June 5th, we can adjust our start date accordingly.

Teams will be announced in the next two weeks, with each division have four full teams.  A full schedule will also be included with team announcements.  All games will be played at Nytex Sports Centre.

Nytex Sports Centre would like to thank each family for their patience during this time, and we hope to see everyone safe and healthy back at our facility.

ON-ICE ACTIVITY SUSPENDED

NYTEX Sports Centre Ice Programs are now temporarily suspended. All on-ice activities, programs, leagues, camps & instructions will resume in the near future.

Pick up & delivery options remain available for ZuRoma Sicilian Kitchen. As well as, The NYTEX Sports Shop.

The Centre remains open daily from 8am to 10pm for Sports Shop, ZuRoma Delivery, Catering to-go and access to the Olympic Hall for limited Extreme Volleyball activities.

UPDATE for Hockey Camps

Due to COVID19 response recommendations, NYTEX Sports Centre is now announcing the postponement of their Spring Youth Programs of Spring Select and Spring Mite Jams, originally scheduled to begin March 28th.

NYTEX Sports Centre will announce the new start time for these programs as soon as possible.  Expectations are both seasons will be extended out and fully completed with our customers safety and well-being as our top priority.

Nytex Sports Centre would like to thank everyone enrolled for their patience and understanding. We stand at the ready to deliver the highest quality hockey instruction as soon as possible.

RECENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

March 17, 2020 – NYTEX Sports Centre remains open for selective events.  We are monitoring this situation continuously and will alter business operations and policies on a case by case basis for each of our Programs. We will continue to communicate any schedule or programming changes to the public as they are made.

The safety and health of our community is our utmost priority. Please be assured we are taking preventive measures to keep our facility clean to maintain a healthy environment. NYTEX Sports Centre is cleaned daily and has implemented an increased employee focus on using sanitizing solutions in high-touch, high-traffic areas several times per day. These sanitization events do include deep cleaning and increased protective measures within the high traffic areas and locker rooms.
