Brahmas Announce the Texas Brahmas 18U Prep Team to be NAPHL Guest

The NYTEX Sports Centre welcomes back Coach Ed Galiani. Galiani was instrumental in winning the NA3HL’s Fraser Cup with the Texas Brahmas as their head coach in 2019. He will be the head coach for the 18U Texas Brahmas Prep Team. The 18U Texas Brahmas Prep team will compete as a guest in the NAPHL starting this Fall 2021 season. Galiani brings with him a wealth of coaching experience in addition to a decorated background playing the game.

As a player, Galiani was an All American at New England College before embarking on an eight year professional career. During his career he collected over 400 points for teams in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Switzerland’s top leagues. Additionally, he has held the honor of playing for Team USA on three different occasions, including the 1989 Spangler Cup and 1990 World Championships, where he shared the ice with NHL greats such as Mike Modano Neil Broten, and Kevin Stevens.

Galiani’s coaching career has seen him coach teams in the AJHL, USPHL, and NA3HL. He was the Hockey Director for the Long Island Gulls Tier I AAA Youth group for 8 years. Brahma Land is very fortunate to have not only a decorate player and coach joining the fold, but a great human being. Ed also served the NYPD before retiring from a storied career with the NYFD. He was on the ground and helping lead rescue efforts in the aftermath of the 911 terror attacks on the World Trade Center in New York. Ed is a dedicated husband to wife Camilla, a father, and grandfather. Not to mention he is the parent of a former Brahma as his son Thomas played for the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League during the 2011-2012 season.

Ed Galiani’s primary role with the Brahmas organization will be coaching the 18U Texas Brahmas Prep team, but he is also serving roles as the head of player development and serving as a special assistant and scout with the NAHL and NA3HL Brahmas Hockey Clubs.

Welcome back to Brahma Land Ed and Camilla Galiani!
