Mite and Squirt Program
The Centre of Excellence has announced two spring programs for the Mite and Squirt divisions. The two clinics will run from March 25 to May 18.
MITE HIGH SPEED SKILLS AND SCRIMMAGE
This program will push Mite aged players through a series of progressive drills to develop their skating, puck skills and confidence. Players will be encouraged to push their limits to get them outside of their comfort zone. A quick pace of play will be encouraged by the instructors as falling is a part of the learning process. Various small area and cross ice games will be played with the focus on team play and FUN!
SQUIRT PREP – TECHNICAL AND TACTICAL
This program will introduce players to utilizing the full ice. Drills will be quick tempo and structured to challenge players which will result in a quicker decision making process. Various technical drills will work on their skating and puck handling skills. Drills will also introduce the tactical component of the game, from positions and responsibilities of each position, to learning some of the important components of the game including face off alignment and offsides. Sessions will include some game play to enable players to apply skills learned.
Each program will feature eight one-hour lessons on Saturday mornings. Please download the flyer to learn more about the programs and reach out to Tim McAllister at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
