FAQ

  • Q: What does my child need to wear?

    A: Activities will take place in the Indoor Turf arena, Volley ball arena, and on the ice rink, gym shoes and socks must be worn. Wear layers that will keep your child warm on the ice, but can be removed to keep them cool during the turf activities. A bicycle helmet is also advisable for young skaters, but not required.

  • Q: What happens during a session?

    A: Ice skating will be available each session except Wednesday when broom ball on full ice will be played. Approximately every hour two different sports will be offered for your child to choose from. Each session will have a 15 minute snack break. A 15 minute Orientation will occur on Monday.

  • Q: My child doesn’t know how to skate. Is this a problem?

    A: Many of our campers have never been on the ice before. You will see much improvement and confidence over the course of the week.

  • Q: Will my child be provided with a breakfast, or perhaps a dinner?

    A: No breakfast will be served. The only meal that will be provided by the NYTEX Sports Centre will be to those who have purchased the ZuRoma lunch package.

  • Q: Can my child bring a lunch or other food?

    A: There is no outside food or drink permitted on the NYTEX grounds. (Ask about dietary restrictions). Water is available at fountains found throughout the centre.

  • Q: What is the ZuRoma lunch package?

    A: The ZuRoma lunch package offers our campers an additional hour from 12:30pm-1pm. The campers get to order their choice of fresh, hot meals cooked at our in-house Italian restaurant. Kids will get to eat with other campers and the counselors getting to know new friends.

  • Q: Are snacks provided?

    A: Snacks may be purchased from vending machines or concession stands at a discounted price during designated snack times. Prices range from $0.75 - $3.75. We offer a variety of snacks from fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, muffins, popcorn, candy, drinks and more. You can see a list at the concession stand in the lobby.

  • Q: Can I drop off my child early?

    A: Early drop off is available for an additional fee. Morning drop-offs are not permitted before 7am. Notification of early drop off is required 48 hours in advance. NYTEX will not responsible for any child that is dropped off early without notice.

  • Q: Can I pick them up late?

    A: There is a $10 per 15 minute late fee that begins directly after your child’s scheduled pick up time.
