History of
The NYTEX Sports Centre is located in North Richland Hills, a beautiful suburb that sits in the heart of the mid-cities in northeast Tarrant County. The premier 140,000 sq. ft. facility houses ice hockey, skating, indoor football & soccer field, five-indoor volleyball courts, full bar & grill restaurant. Purchased in March 2007 by NYTEX Sports, LLC and has been completely re-branded, revamped and reopened.
The building is the home to the Central Hockey Leagues (CHL) 2008-09 Champion Texas Brahmas. The new home reflects the teams new name and location. The arena is a 2,400 seat multi-purpose arena with five public suites and one owners suite.
There is one incredible public skating arena open for all kinds of activities, including youth hockey organizations, skating programs and public skating. One indoor soccer arena, home to the professional men's soccer team, the Texas Outlaws. And also houses 27,000 sq. ft. room filled with 5-large volleyball courts, home to the Tejas Volleyball Club. The NYTEX Sports Centre is located inside the 310-acre Home Town development, a four-phase master planed project by Dallas-based Arcadia Development Corporation.
Prior to re-opening in June, the building stood vacant for several years. NYTEX Sports partners Dr. Salvatore Trazzera, Frank Trazzera, Jim Makens and Knute Anderson each envisioned a dream, and purchased the building.
